West Union Triathlon >
The seventh annual triathlon will be held June 29, 2014, at the West Union Recreational Area. It will include a 3.1-mile run, 16-mile bike ride, and 400 yd swim. Individuals or teams can enter the competition.

Youth aquathlon (run and swim) for ages 5-8 years of age is held after the last triathlete has completed the course while results are being tabulated..

Mission Statement

The West Union Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to providing fitness and leisure activities that promote a healthier lifestyle. The programs will include a balance of athletic, education, and recreation activities which will be properly supervised and supported financially by the board.

Welcome to the West Union Parks and Recreation Web site.  This site has been created to inform you of what programs we offer, the schedules of all the programs offered, and downloadable sign-up forms.

Amusement Park Tickets

We offer discounted tickets for Adventureland, Noah's Ark, and Lost Island Water Park. Tickets are available for sale in the Park and Rec Office.  This year we can only accept credit/debit cards for Adventureland Tickets. Cash or checks are accepted for Noah's Ark and Lost Island. Please call Kathleen at (563)422-3685 for more information. All tickets are returned to the parks September 1.

Triathlon

Our 7th Annual West Union Triathlon will be held June 29, 2014. Please use the link on the left side of this screen to learn more about it. You'll also find the registration form online. We hope to see you in West Union this summer! Do you tri?! We also hold an Aquathlon for children 5-11 years old. They will run 1/2 mile and swim 100 yds. All participants will receive a medal and t-shirt. [Aquathlon Registration Form] Deadline to register is Thursday, June 26, 2014.

Festival of Lights

Please join the Fesitval of Lights on Friday, November 28, 2014, for its Grand Lighting with Santa Claus. Each child who brings a canned good for the Northeast Iowa Food Shelf will have their name put into a drawing to help Santa turn on the lights. Donations to the Festival of Lights are always welcome as well.

Celebrate America: Show Your Colors

There will be a Color Run held on July 4, 2014, at 9 a.m. at the Aquatic Center. All proceeds from this event held on the birthday of this great country will be given to the Wounded Warrior Project which helps our veterans.
